Developing a Smart Reinforced Concrete Infrastructure for Monitoring Durability

In this study a reliable non-destructive method was developed to monitor chloride induced corrosion in a reinforced concrete infrastructure. The approach allows for chloride concentration profiles in exposed concrete to be established as a function of time, which, in conjunction with service life prediction models allows for more effective management of infrastructure maintenance and costs reductions.
