This thesis examined the applicability of cost-benefit analysis (CBA) to assess the economic credentials of obesity prevention interventions in Australia. Using mixed methods, the studies: updated key inputs required for CBA; identified facilitators and barriers for using economic evidence in obesity prevention policymaking; developed a CBA framework for prevention; and demonstrated the application of the framework to a supermarket-based retail intervention.
