Development of nano-immobilized enzyme system for high value omega-3 concentration

This thesis investigated a sustainable and improved approach for polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) concentration in algal lipids using enzyme-enabled nano-systems. Thus, the nano-biocatalysts were prepared on two distinct silica nanostructures, and their enzymatic activities were compared. The thesis therefore paves the way forward towards the discovery of indigenous microalgal strains and the development of advanced nano-biocatalysts for omega-3 enrichment.
