This study interviews nine women who are contemporary theatre directors and mothers and examines how mothering experiences can influence creative practice. Through a multi-faceted methodological approach, this research combines qualitative exploratory processes with a feminist design that foregrounds women's voices. This field is uncharted, making the research distinct in its contribution to motherhood studies and directing.
