Dissecting the early entry steps of HIV-1 infection

The research revealed that HIV is able to undergo reorganization processes, perhaps to prime for entry into the host cell. It appears that cellular proteins may be involved in this process and that the CD4 engagement could promote phosphorylation leading to activation of co- packaged human proteins to ensure cell access.
