Effects of prenatal acoustic communication on songbird behaviour and cognition

Developing embryos can perceive and respond to information from the outside world. This project studied how the zebra finch, a small Australian songbird, changes its behaviour following exposure to a parental vocalisation inside the egg. This prenatal response may have important fitness consequences later in life.
