This research was the first to explore emergency nurses' physical activity levels, and aimed to identify the patterns of activity within-shifts, between-shifts, and between work and leisure time. The findings demonstrate that emergency nurses are highly active at work, but not leisure time, and that rostering patterns impact workplace activity.
