Enablers and Constraints to Student Becoming in Higher Education

This research explored barriers and enablers to student becoming in higher education from a social realist perspective. Findings suggested that narratives of becoming are embodied and emotive and that students view becoming as fluid, ongoing and relational. Becoming is enabled by meaningful relationships with staff and students and opportunities to embody who students aspire to become.<p></p>
