This thesis reports biosynthesis of novel phosphorus-based nanomaterials followed by their characterisation under pristine conditions and in different water types. It reports excellent fertilising effects of phosphorus-based nanomaterials on rice and tomato plants. These nanomaterials were found to be non-toxic in bacteria, microalgae, human cells, human blood, nematodes and zebrafish.
