Essays on land, legal systems and economic development

This study answers how legal systems, defined on the basis of property rights and land tenure, impact economic development. The findings pointed to the supremacy of private ownership systems over state, religious, customary and mixed systems in terms of human capital accumulation and equality in land distribution.
