This thesis explores the book publishing industries of settler societies Australia and Canada, and argues that an ethical editorial praxis enabling productive and respectful relationships between Indigenous writers and non-Indigenous editors may be formulated by clarifying the ethical, historical, cultural, social and educational contexts within which Indigenous literatures are published.
