The work done is extensive, yet a small snapshot in the vast field of cardiac hypertrophy research. The outcomes allow for further investigation to potentially recognise certain cardiac micro-RNAs as diagnostic biomarkers and targets for gene-therapy, with the aim to reduce harmful effects of hypertension on the heart.
