Examination of Postprandial Peripheral Tissue Blood Flow Responses

This thesis investigated the differential effects of glucose and mixed meal ingestion on peripheral tissue macro- and microvascular blood flow in healthy and diseased populations. This work highlights a novel link between postprandial gut-hormones and their involvement in the regulation of skeletal muscle microvascular perfusion.
