Exploring executive and social functioning in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder alone and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and autism spectrum disorder

thesis
posted on 2023-11-27, 04:32 authored by Emma Stephens
This thesis compared executive functioning in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder alone and co-occurring autism spectrum disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. There were more similarities than differences across inhibition, planning, and verbal working memory. Three profiles of executive functioning were identified, which were not related to diagnosis. Executive functioning profiles were associated with impaired social functioning above the contribution of their diagnostic group.
