Fabrication of Two-dimensional Nanomaterial Membranes for Ion Separation related Applications

This thesis studied the key properties of two-dimensional nanomaterial membranes in the field of ion separation. It developed different two-dimensional nanomaterial membranes in combination with targeted synthesis strategies for high-performance desalination and osmotic power generation applications. It found that charge density, nanochannel size and the mechanical integrity of membranes were critical to improving ion separation performance.
