Family-Centred Occupational Therapy: What do Therapists and Low-Socioeconomic Families Value?

This thesis investigated the relationship between occupational therapists and parents from low socioeconomic backgrounds by exploring their values, expectations and experiences. Findings revealed differences in the values held by occupational therapists and parents, and inconsistencies between their expectations and experiences, indicating a break-down in the delivery of family-centred practice.
