Fine-scale foraging movements and energetics in penguins

thesis
posted on 2024-11-29, 04:46 authored by Grace Sutton
This research investigates the factors influencing foraging effort and efficiency in penguins. Using a combination of animal-borne video cameras, accelerometers, dive recorders and GPS, this study validated accelerometry as an accurate predictor of energy expenditure and developed techniques to investigate foraging decisions in response to changes in prey field.
