The thesis used tracking technologies and biochemical analyses to investigate the behaviour and diet of male Australian fur seals. The study explored niche segregation, inter-individual variation and temporal trends in the behaviour and diet of the species. The results have implications for our understanding of sexual segregation in seals and for the management of Australian fur seals in south-eastern Australia.
