Functional decline in hospitalised older patients: quality of 24-hour care

The study answered to what extent nursing care optimises the functional status of older patients and the barriers and enablers to balance activity and rest to minimise functional decline. Findings pointed to care that lacked emphasis on the unique vulnerabilities of elders and lack of coordination of 24-hour functional care.<br>
