This thesis focused the board gender diversity debate on the role of the corporate board. It used two studies to answer whether there was a corporate governance case for board gender diversity. The findings suggested that board gender diversity might indeed be able to enhance corporate governance in a firm. The findings also suggest complementary solutions to strengthening board effectiveness.
