Here be dragons: ideology and socialisation in young adult literature

This thesis explores the role that young adult literature plays in conveying to its readers ideological messages, which can either reinforce or subvert society’s values. The thesis then incorporates this exploration into a creative young adult fantasy novel entitled "Displaced" about dragons, set in a modern Australian setting.
