This study demonstrated the promising performance of lithium and zinc anodic redox couples in superconcentrated ionic liquid electrolytes for application in redox-cells. They've shown excellent cyclability, dendrite-free morphology and the capability to sustain high current operation indicating the great promise to overcome the critical requirements in developing high-energy density redox-flow batteries.
