Identity shift of Iranian multilingual Turkish-speaking EFL teachers

This study examined identity shift of Iranian Turkish-speaking EFL teachers. It viewed the EFL classroom as a community extension influenced by the participants' perspectives. The findings indicate the strategic use of identity shift to facilitate language teaching and learning. More importantly, identity shift helps teachers gain legitimacy with learners by accessing linguistic and symbolic capital.
