Images of embodied old age in contemporary Japan

Reports research on how social, political and cultural processes have impacted on visual and textual representations of the old body, as Japan has undergone a structural shift towards a postindustrial structure over the last twenty years. The research results are integrated with recent critical developments in sociological theory.
