Improving Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Using Gaze Analysis

This study investigated whether diabetic retinopathy screening could be improved with a visual search strategy. It investigated the distribution of diabetic retinopathy features and assessed eye movement patterns of expert clinicians to develop a strategy, which was presented to clinicians in an interactive workshop. The results suggest an educational intervention can change visual search behaviour and improve inter-grader agreement.
