The findings of this thesis demonstrate the crucial role that schools, the PE learning environment and, importantly, teachers can play in improving movement skill proficiency in early adolescent girls. Ultimately, any improvement in skill competency, especially for low-skilled girls, may expand potential enjoyment and thus lifelong participation in a wider array of physical activities.
