Indicators of ecosystem change for effective biodiversity conservation

This thesis explored how change in ecosystems is measured from local-scale ecosystem studies through to global-level biodiversity monitoring. It developed new scientific theory and practical tools to improve our understanding of the status of biodiversity and to support ecosystem conservation and management worldwide.
