Indonesian President Joko Widodo (2014-2019): Populism and Oligarchy

This thesis reveals that between 2014 and 2019 Indonesian President Joko Widodo's populist leadership style diminished. The power of oligarchy and certain oligarchs was strengthened. Institutional democracy was maintained; constitutional democracy declined. Through extensive research of secondary sources and original material from fifteen interviews, these main findings were arrived at.
