Preceptorship is globally recognized as an effective clinical education model. Research has demonstrated the importance of training programs in enhancing preceptor competence. However, in Ghana (where this study was conducted), there is no standard preceptor training program and nurses generally do not undertake a formal training program to become preceptors.
