Intergeneratonal determinants of Oxytocin Receptor gene DNA methylaton in infant offspring

thesis
posted on 2024-10-31, 03:15 authored by Catherine Mary Maud
This thesis has explored the relationship between the epigenetics of the infant oxytocin receptor gene (OXTR), DNA methylation (DNAm) and both infant and maternal pre-conception attachment styles. The findings point to the inter-generational impact of pre-conceptional maternal and post-natal mother-infant attachment styles, upon fundamental biological changes within the infant's oxytocinergic (OT) system.
