This study found meaningful set of relationships between the cooling rate and macrostructure of deposited parts in Powder Feed- Laser Directed Energy Deposition (PF-LDED) systems. In addition, it proposed a novel method in modifying macrostructure with the use of the in situ control of the input process parameters.
