Investigation and isolation of Xanthones and bioactive compounds from mangosteen

This thesis investigated the Xanthone compounds and other potential bioactive compounds found in mangosteen. New extraction, purification and analytical methods for the isolation of these compounds were investigated. Some of their anti-inflammatory properties were also investigated.
