Investigation of Flow Characteristics and Energy Dissipation in Gabion Stepped Weirs

This study investigated the flow characteristics and energy dissipation on gabion stepped weirs experimentally and numerically. Relationships have been developed to estimate the through-flow and overflow ratios, flow regime limits, and the energy dissipation. The composite downstream slope (new model) has been suggested to improve the rate of energy dissipation.
