Following the early application of electric fish to modulate brain function, non-invasive brain stimulation techniques are now used in the research and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders. This thesis, which is dedicated to Professor Gregory Tooley, investigated the ideal methodological parameters for guarding against placebo effects when using transcranial direct current stimulation.
