This study explored the older adult Iranian immigrants' settlement struggles, social identity dynamics, social investment, and second language motivational selves in Australia. The findings suggest that the Iranian immigrants' actions and life subjectivity in Australia are largely the outcome of their own acquired knowledge associated with their first country collectivist norms.
