The aim of my study is to understand how mate choice interacts with various ecological processes and affect the persistence of polymorphism and divergence in sexually selected traits. I identify specific conditions which determine whether or not a polymorphism in sexual traits is likely to persist or likely to result in divergent fixation and loss.
