This thesis investigates how gamified learning platforms are shaping perceptions and performances of student engagement in a private girls' school in Melbourne, using platform walkthroughs, interviews and ethnography. It provides an in-depth case-study of how engagement is increasingly marked by datafication, behaviourism and neoliberal competition.
