Liabilities of origin and emerging economy SME internationalization

This study described how institutional voids result in liabilities of origin for emerging economy SMEs. The perceptions of entrepreneurs were explored and the influence of institutional voids on SME internationalization analyzed. In addition to legitimacy and firm-capability disadvantages, institutional voids were found to result in mindset liabilities among entrepreneurs.
