This thesis and creative artefact explores representations of technology and posthumanity in young adult science fiction, examining ways that these texts destabilise the human/non-human dichotomy. A wide analysis of young adult science fiction reveals a pressing need to expand upon the technophobic dystopia to provide adolescents with a means of grappling with their own experiences as posthuman subjects.
