The studies in this thesis focused on the pre and postnatal time periods using the domains, External environmental exposures, Gut bacterial composition, Gut bacterial metabolites and Potential intermediaries between gut bacteria and cognition. Overall, no evidence of association between maternal or infant gut bacteria and subsequent child cognition was found.
