Mediating (post)feminist girlhood through young adult fantasy literature
This thesis examines the construction of girl characters in popular young adult fantasy novels through a literary analysis. It also considers how girl readers mediate their understanding of femininity, agency, and sexuality and romance through young adult fantasy texts and engaged girls in focus groups and interviews.
