This work explored the potential of metal and metal-based nanofibers, with tailored fiber nanocrystal morphology and composition, for applications in inorganic adsorption. Offering a suitable material stability in water and an outstanding surface reactivity, metal-based nanofibers were shown to be an excellent material solution for heavy metal ion water remediation.
