This study involved the use of dyed cotton textile waste to produce coloured microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) to promote the concept of circular economy. These coloured MFCs have excellent properties which were used to produce advanced value-added products maintaining superior features as membranes, bio-adsorbents and as sustainable coatings on textiles.
