Microstructures in additively manufactured Inconel 718

This thesis has investigated the effect of processing parameters on the microstructures of Inconel 718 alloy by additive manufacturing. The key outcome is that a heterogeneous grain structure is formed, leading to superior strength-ductility synergy.
