This thesis proposes novel model parameter estimation techniques for the Li-ion batteries considering their resiliency on temperature and C-rate effects. The proposed techniques are then augmented with the advance non-linear Kalman filters for improved SoC estimation of batteries. Finally, this thesis presents a novel SoC-based energy management and control technique for the grid-tied solar PV-battery based micro-grid.
