Computers connected by networks represent a large pool of computing power. If that power could be harnessed it would be an inexpensive alternative to buying a faster/better computer. One tool to use the full power of a network of computers is process migration. Process migration is the act of migrating a running computation from one busy computer to an idle computer. This research studied many different migration strategies to adapt to the prevailing conditions of the computer system to achieve the best possible performance.
