Muslim Community Organisations' Understanding of and Responses to Islamophobia

This thesis examines Australian Muslim community organisations MCOs' understanding of Islamophobia, their anti-Islamophobia strategies and the factors influencing them deploying an agency-structure framework. The findings indicate that MCOs' strategies are informed by Islamophobia, nonetheless, hold agentic qualities as MCOs utilise the macro-level Islamophobic discourses to devise transformative activities at the micro-level of the Muslim and non-Muslim communities.
