This thesis includes the systematic taxonomy of fossil ostracods present in three late Neogene geological formations throughout southeastern Australia. It investigates the palaeoecological, palaeoenvironmental and palaeoceanographic implications of the fossil assemblages in order to contribute to the understanding of the origins of modern southeastern Australian ostracod biodiversity.
