New Forms of Buddhism and the Social Formation in Post-war Sri Lanka

This thesis is an exploration of the connection between religious innovation and the changing social formation in contemporary Sri Lanka through an ethnographic study of a specific Buddhist movement. The findings of this thesis pointed out that social formation is a context specific phenomenon and it connects with religious innovation.
