Norm contestation in international relations: The responsibility to protect and China

This thesis studied dynamics of norm contestation in International Relations by examining China's contestation of the Responsibility to Protect norm. It found that China has influenced the development of the norm in important ways. A 'reflexive theory' of norm contestation is developed that captures three different dynamics of contestation.
